Driver taken to hospital following Highway 71 rollover Tuesday morning

The driver of a Jeep Grand Cherokee was taken by ambulance to the Park Rapids hospital Tuesday morning following a one-vehicle rollover on U.S. Highway 71 north of Portage Lake.

The driver of a Jeep Grand Cherokee was taken by ambulance to the Park Rapids hospital Tuesday morning following a one-vehicle rollover on U.S. Highway 71 north of Portage Lake.

Officers on the scene said the driver suffered minor injuries in the crash, which occurred around 7:30 a.m.

The southbound vehicle apparently left the roadway and rolled on the shoulder of the road, officers said.

The cause was not immediately known.

The Grand Cherokee sustained heavy damage.

The accident is under investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol and Hubbard County Sheriff's Department.
