Dorothy Mae Muckey, 78, of Park Rapids died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007 at Diamond Willow Assisted Living Center in Park Rapids.

She was born March 9, 1929 to Leslie and Lilith (McDonald) Robinson in Opheim, MT. She moved with her family to Minneapolis and graduated from Phillips High School. She lived in several places in Minnesota and Arkansas and in 1955 she started working for the Minnesota Department of Corrections, working with developmentally disabled youth. She also worked for Rolling Acres group home.

She married William Muckey in 1972. In 1974, she retired from the corrections department. She then moved to Lake Alice. In 2001, she moved to Park Rapids.

She is survived by a son, William (Jolene) Devine of Laporte; daughter, Mary C. (special friend, Tomas Quintana) Skok of Shakopee; sister, Roberta (Al) Tetlock of Blaine, WA; brother, Carlyle (Evelyn) of Wildersville, TN; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1998.

Visitation: One hour prior to the service.

Memorial service: Noon Sunday, Oct. 7 at Cease Family Funeral Home in Park Rapids with Pastor Pat Olson officiating.

Inurnment: Lake Alice Cemetery.
