Dorothy Beryl Henderson Mickelson, 88, of Menahga died Saturday Sept. 1, 2007 at Green Pine Acres Nursing Home in Menahga.
She was born Sept. 8, 1918 to T.A. "Bert" and Estella (Rhodes) Gilpin in Osage. She attended school in Osage and high school in Park Rapids, graduating in 1936. She then attended Normal Teachers Training and taught country school in rural Brainerd for one year.
In May 1938, she married Ronald Henderson. They lived in the Osage area. She worked as a substitute and homebound teacher and also as a secretary.
She was active in the Chatterbug Club, the Osage Friendly Squares and was a member of the Osage Baptist Church.
She married Julius "Jay" Mickelson in 1979. They lived in Wolf Lake and Detroit Lakes, spending winters in Florida and Arizona. For the past six years, she has lived at Green Pine Acres Nursing Home in Menahga.

She is survived by two sons, R. Jack (Pat) Henderson of Forest Lake and Tom (Linda) Henderson of Detroit Lakes; daughter, Rosalie (David) Larson of Fargo; stepsons, Lyle (Jeanette) Mickelson and Harold (Sandy) Mickelson; two sisters, Beth Fuhr and Ellen Shearer; nine grandchildren, step-grandchildren, many great- and step-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands and an infant brother and sister.
Visitation: 5 to 8 tonight (Wednesday) at Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids and one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6 at the Osage Community Church with Rev. Steven Bruer officiating.
Honorary casketbearers: Her granddaughters, Kathryn Anderson, Kim Larson and Gail Henderson.
Active casketbearers: Her grandsons, Thomas, Timothy, Joseph, Marc and Greg Henderson and Michael Larson.
Interment: Riverside Cemetery at Osage.
