Doris M. Cheney
Doris Marie Cheney, 72, of Park Rapids died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006 at the Hospice Home and Suites in Elko.
She was born Aug. 14, 1934 in Swift County. Her adoptive parents were A.E. and Amanda (Pearson) Anderson. She attended school at Sebeka until 1946 when the family moved to Park Rapids. She graduated from Park Rapids High School in 1952. She graduated from the Northwest Institute of Nursing in Minneapolis.
She married Larry Lee Cheney Dec. 18, 1954 in Park Rapids. They lived in Pennsylvania for a while, then returned to Park Rapids and she worked at the Park Rapids Clinic until retiring in 1995. She recently moved to Elko.
She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, where she played the organ.

She is survived by a son, Donald (Amy) of Apple Valley and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1976; parents; sister, Marjorie; and brother, Ronald Jensen.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorial service: 1 p.m. today (Saturday) at Calvary Lutheran Church in Park Rapids with Pastor Gene Broughton officiating.
Inurnment: A private inurnment will be held at a later date.
