Donald Wright
Donald McKay Wright, 89, of Laguna Woods, CA died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006 at his home.
He was born May 3, 1916 to Harvey and Ida Wright in Park Rapids. He graduated from Park Rapids High School in 1934. He spent two years in the Civilian Conservation Corps and four years in the construction business prior to joining Battalion G of the National Guard. On Feb. 10, 1941 he was called to active duty where he served as Ordinance Recovery Officer (lieutenant) with the 78th Infantry Division in Europe. He received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was discharged in November 1945.
He married Emma "Sussie" Cecilia Christensen July 7, 1942 in Oakland, CA. He was owner and operator of Compton Store Fixtures, Compton, CA for 30 years. After retirement he sold real estate for 10 years. They lived in Compton and Long Beach, CA. In 1991, they moved to Prescott, AZ. In 2004, they moved back to Laguna Hills, CA.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Donald "Pete" of Yorba Linda, CA and Chris of Grapeview, WA; two daughters, Linda Tobin of Auburn, CA and Joyce Wright of Orange, CA; sister, Grace Storey; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Laurie; and three sisters, Bernice, Florence and Joyce.
Memorial service: 11 a.m. Saturday, March 18 at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, CA.
