Brandon Kenneth Newell, 28, of 19085 County Road 131, Detroit Lakes has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for felony first-degree DWI.
A gross misdemeanor charge of driving after his license was canceled was dropped in a plea agreement.
According to court records, on Aug. 30 Detroit Lakes police responded to a report of a motorcycle being driven carelessly on County Road 6. Newell matched the description and was stopped.
An officer smelled alcohol on him and asked him how much he'd had to drink.
"Enough," he replied.

Asked if he would comply with field sobriety tests, he replied that he "was not going to play any games."
He consented to testing in jail. He has been convicted of DWI three times in the past 10 years and his license was canceled as inimical to public safety.
He appeared before District Judge Peter Irvine, who sentenced him to 42 months in prison, stayed seven years. He was placed on supervised probation.
He must serve 180 days in jail, with work release and STS privileges granted. He must serve 30 days on electronic home monitoring after being released from jail.
He was fined $1,500 plus court fees, for a total of $1,620.
He must abstain from drugs and alcohol, submit to random testing, and follow the recommendations of a chemical use assessment.
