DL man suffers minor injuries when car rear-ended by bus, overturns into median, on Highway 10

A Detroit Lakes man suffered minor injuries when his car was rear-ended by a school bus serving as a WE Fest shuttle bus on Highway 10 Thursday afternoon. The car overturned into the median.

A Detroit Lakes man suffered minor injuries when his car was rear-ended by a school bus serving as a WE Fest shuttle bus on Highway 10 Thursday afternoon. The car overturned into the median.

Ernest F. Olson, 90, of Detroit Lakes was driving a 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix westbound on Highway 10 east of Detroit Lakes. He was traveling slower than the posted speed limit, and the driver of the 2009 International school bus, which was moving at the speed limit, hit the car from behind.

The bus was driven by Norman W, Beckman, 69, of Detroit Lakes, who suffered no apparent injuries in the crash. The bus was being used to shuttle fans to WE Fest, but was not carrying passengers at the time of the crash, which was reported at 4:43 p.m.
