The City of Detroit Lakes' Public Utilities Water and Waste Water Department is advising all city residents to reduce water use until further notice.
Treatment and storage facilities are near maximum capacity and threatening to overflow their banks.
The city is asking residents to pump all water from sump pumps outside to help alleviate the problem.
