Grant Dierkhising scored 28 points in leading the Park Rapids boys basketball team to a 53-47 victory over Crookston Friday night.

In other high school sports action Friday night:

Morris/Benson skated to a 4-1 victory over the Park Rapids-Menahga-Walker-Hackensack-Akeley girls hockey team.

Nevis defeated Menahga 63-55 in a girls basketball game at Menahga.

Pillager defeated Menahga 69-48 in a Park Region Conference boys basketball game.

In high school sports action Saturday:

The Park Rapids-Menahga boys hockey team improved to 13-0 on the season with a 6-1 win at Kittson Central.

Thief River Falls skated to an 8-1 win over the Panthers in girls hockey.

Walker-Hackensack-Akeley defeated the Park Rapids girls basketball team 67-51.

Grand Rapids won the Park Rapids Invitational gymnastics meet with 133.30 points. The host Panthers finished fifth out of six teams with 116.65 points.

Jared Nash took first at 145 pounds and Colter Uscola was second at 140 pounds as the Park Rapids wrestling team finished eighth at the Perham Barrel O'Fun Invitational with 78 points. Perham took first with 256 points.

The Park Rapids boys swimming and diving team finished third at the Detroit Lakes Invitational with 220 points. Bemidji won the meet with 330 points.
