Debra Sue Smith, 48, of 719 Richwood Road, No. 7, Detroit Lakes has been charged in Becker County District Court with making terroristic threats, a felony.
According to court records:
On Aug. 20 she allegedly called a male identified only as B.H. from her home phone and left threatening messages on his answering machine.
He had been involved in a romantic relationship with her daughter and she allegedly told him she wanted either money or a "key to something," according to court records. She threatened several times to hunt him down and beat him up or kill him.
A Detroit Lakes police officer that heard the messages contacted her and she allegedly admitted making the threats. He told her to stay away from the workplace of B.H., but she allegedly went there the next day looking for him.

Smith appeared Monday before District Judge Joe Evans, who set bail or bond at $5,000 and set her next court date for Sept. 28.
