A Detroit Lakes man was sentenced to 58 months in prison Wednesday on a drug possession charge.
Steven Taylor Wynhoff, 42, of 21031 400th Ave., Detroit Lakes, pleaded guilty July 27 to a charge of second degree possession of a controlled substance. A second felony charge for manufacture of methamphetamine was dismissed.
Wynhoff was charged in connection with a Sept. 3, 2008 incident in which special agents of the West Central Minnesota Drug Task Force searched his home after receiving a tip that he might be manufacturing meth on his property.
During the search, the agents recovered over 25 grams of a substance that later tested positive as meth, along with multiple items related to its manufacture, including containers of muriatic acid, partially burned cans that had once contained toulene solvent, a gram scale, coffee filters, razor blades and more.
