Denver Munson, 97, of Osage died Saturday, July 5, 2008 at Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids.

He was born March 31, 1911 in Grant County, the oldest of 10 children born to John and Nora (Johnson) Munson. He grew up and attended school in Grant County.

He married Margaret E. Johnson Oct. 15, 1933 at Fergus Falls. For the last 50 years they have lived on a hobby farm near Osage. They operated the Osage Country Market grocery store for 14 years. He also worked as a commercial union painter in the Fargo area.

He was a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Snellman.

Surviving are his wife; daughter, Joann (Scott) Thayer of Annandale; sons, Ronald (Georgia) of California, Robert of Osage, Keith (Lana) of California and Allen of Minnesota; sisters, Virginia Robinson of Hawley, Eunice Heinomen of Hawley and Nora (Todd) Tweeton of Detroit Lakes; 22 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia; sons, Roger and Ricky; great-grandson, Jaron; brothers, Chet, Jerry, Hoover and Carrold; and sisters, Roselle and Tootsie Worma.

Memorial service: Friday, July 11 at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Snellman.
