A female bicyclist was injured Tuesday while riding on the Heartland Trail.
According to the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred at 3:23 p.m. on July 28.
According to Akeley Police Chief Jimmy Hansen, the female was cycling west on the Heartland Trail near Akeley when she failed to stop at the Pleasant Ave. crossing, struck a pickup and tipped over on the ground, sustaining an injury that the sheriff’s dispatch report described as a possible broken ankle.
North Memorial Ambulance transported the cyclist to a hospital, Hansen said.
