Kellie Ann Lundon-Cormican, 39, Crookston, was sentenced by Distritct Judge Michael Kraker today to 119 months in prison, with just over 79 months served, for five counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.
The charges stem from incidents in August and November 2007 when she had sexual contact with a 14-year-old boy.
She pleaded guilty to the charges in December, under an agreement that five first-degree charges were dropped. She will have 10 years of supervised release after her time served and will register as a sex offender.
Polk County attorney Greg Widseth recommended the 119 months, in accordance with Minnesota Sentencing Guidelines. Cormican's attorney, Earl Gray, did not agree on the sentence and asked that Kraker deviate from the guidelines.
The third-degree charges say she engaged in criminal sexual contact with a victim who was at least 13 years old, but younger than 16, and that she was at least two years older than the victim. The first-degree charges, now dropped, said she was in a position of authority over the victim, as she was his employer or regularly supervised him at her residence in his parent's absence, according to court documents.

Cormican served as a special education paraprofessional in the Crookston Public School district from 2004 until spring 2007. She had no contact with the victim in her duties there, according to Superintendent Wayne Gilman. Her contract was not renewed for reasons unrelated to the charges, he said.
