County hires new assistant attorney following Randall’s resignation

Hubbard County Attorney Jonathan Frieden is hiring a new assistant county attorney due to the resignation of assistant county attorney Erika Randall.

The Hubbard County Board approved Seth Keysor to replace Randall.

Frieden informed county commissioners that Randall’s last day was Jan. 31.

Frieden recommended Keysor. “He’s been a practicing attorney since 2013. He has a couple years’ experience as a city attorney doing criminal misdemeanor traffic citations, which of course we do, as well as the last couple years being on a child in need of protection defense side, representing parents. He is very well schooled in social services as well as our misdemeanor caseload. He is the candidate I’d love to hire.”

The board unanimously approved Keysor’s hiring at their Feb. 4 meeting.

“It’s a time-sensitive thing?” inquired county commissioner Ted Van Kempen.

“It is,” Frieden replied. “He’ll take the position, which is a very, very good thing.”
