Clarification

Long Lake resident Bill Cowman said his remarks last week at a county board discussing inspection fees and shoreline violations were misconstrued. Regarding his lake's six smaller associated groups, he said Tuesday: "Essentially the point is that we're all good stewards of the lake and this gives each neighborhood through social events a chance to get to know each other better. It was never the intent to make a concerted effort to go out and check what people are doing or not doing or going into people's homes." The story appeared Saturday, Aug. 6 on Page 1A.
