Park Rapids residents should be receiving a letter from the City of Park Rapids notifying them about mandatory water meter replacement.
This letter is legitimate and should not be thrown away, city officials told the Enterprise.
The city of Park Rapids is replacing the water meters in its service area and has contracted Ferguson Waterworks’ Meter and Automation Group to complete the installation of these meters.
Residents must contact Ferguson Waterworks at 855-843-0473 or visit www.fergusonscheduling.com to schedule an appointment to perform this work. Evening and weekend appointments are available upon request. Appointments must be scheduled within two weeks of receiving this letter.
There is no charge for the service or the meter at this time.
Residents must have their water meter replaced to be in compliance.
To install the new water meter Ferguson Waterworks will need to gain access to the water meter inside each home or business. The water meter area should be clear and accessible.
An adult 18 years old or older must be present at the time of installation or request that Ferguson be accompanied by a city employee.
Residents will be asked to schedule an appointment spanning a two-hour block of time. The installer will arrive and complete the meter installation work within the two-hour time frame. The installation should take approximately 20 minutes.
Ferguson Waterworks is an experienced meter installation contractor. All installers will have ID, wear uniforms, travel in marked vehicles and have completed background checks.
Call City Hall with any further questions at 732-3163.
