The Park Rapids City Council approved Tuesday a resolution for a conditional use permit allowing for a law office to operate at 120 Main Avenue North.
Applicant Paul Nistler made the request to the city and is working with Sara Swanson, a local attorney looking to expand her business by moving into the new location, according to information presented at the council meeting.
The property has been used as a professional office or clinic for 50 years, city planner Ryan Mathisrud said. Its proposed use as an office building will likely not change the existing impact as long as the current site is not significantly altered or the building is expanded.
The Planning Commission recommended approval based on conditions the site is kept in an organized and slightly manner.
