A retirement celebration was held in honor of Chief Warrant Officer 4, Tonia L. Osieczanek-Damen for 21 years of exemplary service in the United States Army Saturday, Dec. 6. She is the niece of Carol and Bob Machovsky. She served as a distinguished leader and member of the Counterespionage Team for Bravo Company, 308th MI Bn, 902d MI Group.
Along with 80+ family members, the John F. O’Hara Counterintelligence Career Achievement Award, Meritorious Service Medal and Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal were awarded to her at the celebration. The achievements of Chief Warrant Officer 4 Tonia L. Osieczanek-Damen saved countless lives, increased leadership’s understanding of the complex threat environment and ultimately improved the effectiveness of operations.
She played a key role in successful intelligence operations in the Pacific, European and Middle East Theaters. In addition, she volunteered over 830 hours to local schools, organizations and charities and athletic clubs within the greater Redstone Arsenal community.
Honor Guard members from the Park Rapids American Legion were present to post the national colors along with a Flag Folding Ceremony. In conclusion, Tonia presented her two Godfathers, Ronald Torma and Bob Machovsky, her dog tags as a memorial token.
Her aunt and uncle Carol and Bob Machovsky ask those that read this “to pause for a moment and thank our soldiers. Thank you, Tonia, for your service.”
