Charles Marshall Richards Jr., 84, of Cass Lake died Thursday, June 7, 2007 at his home.

He was born Sept. 9, 1922 to Charles and Nora (Williams) Richards Sr. in Cass Lake. He grew up in Cass Lake. When he was six years old, his family moved to the farmstead in Pike Bay Town-ship. He attended Cass Lake Elementary School and graduated from Cass Lake High School in 1940.

He married Ada Kolkin Nov. 13, 1954 in Cass Lake. He farmed in Pike Bay Town-ship until 1988, when they moved to Farden Township. He was a custom sheep shearer.

He served 15 years on the Pike Bay town board as a su-pervisor. From 1958 to the present, he served as a state fire warden. He was a Na-tional Rifle Association member and a member of the Minnesota Dark House Spearing and Angling Asso-ciation.

He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Shirley (Michael) Milli of Bemidji, Janice (David) Ahlgren of Gardnerville, NV, and Sue (Art) Richards-Chase of Walker; sisters, Arlene Ham-ilton of Rochester Hills, MI and Maxine (Alvin) Brogger of Bemidji; three grandchil-dren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Henry Reuter.

Visitation: One hour prior to the service.

Memorial service: 2 p.m. Friday, June 15 at Farden Town Hall in Farden Town-ship.

Honorary casketbearers: His sons-in-law and grand-sons, Andy and William Chase and Marshall Milli.

Inurnment: Farris Ceme-tery in Farden Township.
