Criminal charges are expected to be filed soon in connection with a June 4 fire that authorities believe was sparked by a methamphetamine lab.

Cass County Sheriff's Detective Jesse Jahner said Wednesday that he forwarded his report to the state's attorney's office.

Jahner said he recommends the suspect be charged with conspiracy to manufacture meth.

Authorities said items used to make meth were found in and around a semitrailer where firefighters fought the large blaze, in a grove of trees filled with abandoned cars south of the new Wal-Mart Supercenter being built along 52nd Avenue South.
