The Hubbard County Food Shelf thanks Century Elementary School students for their recent food drive, which netted a total of 1,090 pounds of food and $736.

Students packed up and loaded donated food this week. "We collected food during the month of March and it was delivered to the food shelf on Wednesday by Tony Szymczak and Kent Utke," explained fourth grade teacher Val Burton.

"We thank all the teachers and staff who helped to coordinate this drive," said assistant food shelf director Denny Ulmer, expressing concern that donations are down compared to previous years. "Donations of cash and food are critical for continued operations and service to the clients the food shelf serves."

Funds can be dropped off at 308 Pleasant Avenue from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
