A Cass Lake man was sentenced Monday in Cass County court to nearly ten years in prison for Criminal Sexual Conduct.
Cass County Attorney Christopher Strandlie reports that Francis “Tuffy” Peter Isham, 61, pled guilty to one count of Second Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct on May 6, 2014. On June 16, Isham was sentenced to serve 119 months in prison pursuant to the Minnesota Sentencing guidelines
The Complaint filed by the Cass County Attorney's Office alleged Isham had engaged in sexual contact with a nine-year-old girl in 2006. In exchange for the plea, a similar charge was dismissed in Beltrami County.
Isham will be on conditional release for ten years after his release from prison. He will have to register as a predatory offender for life and will be assigned a risk level. He also will be subject to review for civil commitment as a predatory offender pursuant to Minnesota law and must provide a DNA sample to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
The investigation in the matter was conducted by officers from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office and the Leech Lake Tribal Police Department.
