Geoffrey R. Woodley, 52, of Cass Lake, died Tuesday afternoon in a car versus semi trailer crash.
According to the State Patrol headquartered in Brainerd, at 1:37 p.m. Tuesday, Woodley was driving a 2002 Volkswagen Golf east on U.S. Highway 2 10 miles east of Bena when his car swerved into the westbound lane and struck a logging truck head on. The logging truck, a 2007 Peterbilt, was driven west by Richard D. Cormican, 35, of Big Fork. Cormican was not injured. Both vehicles burned at the scene.
