Cass County seizes 131 dogs in puppy mill operation

Sheriff Tom Burch reports that the Cass County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant on 07-16-13 in the City of Pine River, pursuant to an ongoing investigation of animal cruelty.  102 dogs and 29 puppies were seized.      The search warrant was conducted by the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Animal Humane Society, the Pine River Police Department and Heartland Animal Rescue Team.      The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation with the Animal Humane Society.   The investigation continues pending formal charges.
