A 54-year-old Brainerd man was arrested at 12:01 p.m. Sunday for driving while intoxicated (DWI) on the ice on Mille Lacs Lake near Terry's Boat Harbor, reported the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office.
It was reported that the man was driving on Mille Lacs Lake on the ice and he drove into open water a short distance from shore. The water was to the top of the doors of the vehicle, the sheriff's office said. The man was treated by fire and emergency personnel, released and then arrested for DWI and test refusal.
