Bail for a Hubbard County man charged in the Feb. 26 robbery of an Akeley branch bank has been raised.
Friday Hubbard County District Judge Robert Tiffany ordered the bail increase following recommendations of the county probation department. The bond study indicated bail should be set at $50,000 conditional and $100,000 unconditional for Edward Joseph Lowen, 53.
The Hubbard County man was arrested less than a week after the heist, in which $2,500 was taken.
At the time Tiffany set bond at $25,000 and $75,000, but agreed to commission a bond study.
Lowen is in the Hubbard County jail, where he has been since his arrest. He's scheduled for an omnibus hearing March 29.
