The Norman County sheriff has identified the person found dead in a burning vehicle near Fertile, Minn.

The body of 61-year-old Paulette Olson was discovered Jan. 24 in the front seat of her 1998 Buick Regal, Sheriff Jeremy Thornton said.

Authorities believe Olson's car caught fire after getting stuck in a snowdrift. Thornton said the cause of the fire and Olson's cause of death have not yet been determined, but that foul play is not suspected.

Olson was driving on County Highway 1, going from her home in rural Fertile to Crookston where she worked, Thornton said.

The snowdrift that apparently disabled her car spanned across the road, extended 50 to 60 feet and was about a foot deep.
