On June 20 at 11:22 p.m., Wadena County Sheriff deputies were dispatched to Twin Lakes in Menahga for a 9-1-1 call involving a sunken boat, a press release said.
Officers arrived at South Twin Lakes and learned that a boat had sunk and there were five to seven people in the water. Prior to their arrival, officers were informed that five of the seven had made it to shore and two were still out on the water.
It was later learned that the two that were still in the water were actually in a second boat that had come to help the five that had sunk their boat. The two good Samaritans were also juvenile males.
On board the boat were four juveniles and one adult, Tyler R. Jarvi. A juvenile male, who was operating the boat, said the boat was a 14-foot Lund with a 15 horse power Evinrude motor.
Deputies learned that two of the operator's passengers were sitting in the front of the boat on a wood pallet platform. One other juvenile and Mr. Jarvi were in the middle of the boat on a bench seat, and the operator was on a bench seat in the rear of the boat.

The juvenile male operator said he was going full speed, and when he slowed down, the boat slowly drifted forward until its nose started taking on water.
No injuries resulted from the accident. All victims were treated and released by first responders and a Tri-County Ambulance on scene.
The boat was removed from South Twin Lakes by the owners Thursday afternoon.
Assisting on scene were the Menahga Police Department, Menahga first responders, Menahga Fire Department, Minnesota DNR, Hubbard County Sheriff's Office, Park Rapids Police Department and Tri-County Ambulance.
