A 34-year-old Park Rapids woman was charged with a gross misdemeanor in Wadena County District Court for allegedly selling alcohol to a minor.
During compliance checks around Wadena County, an undercover 19-year-old man visited liquor establishments and attempted to buy drinks. On June 13, the 19-year-old went to Blueberry Pines Golf Club and allegedly purchased a bottle of Coors Light beer without being carded.
Under Minnesota law, the employee can be criminally charged for selling to anyone underage. Kelly Jeanette Wellman was charged July 25 with purchase/sell/barter/furnish/give alcohol to a person under 21 years of age. Her first court appearance was set for Aug. 22.
