Beverly "Bev" Jean Jacobson, 61, of Park Rapids, died Friday, Nov. 14, 2008 at her home.
She was born Nov. 4, 1947 in Ada to Russell and Lorraine (Benesh) Slininger. She grew up and was raised on the family farm near Ada where she helped with all the chores associated with farming such as milking, haying and field work. She attended school in Ada, where she graduated from high school in 1965. She attended Moorhead State College for one year and Interstate Business College for one year.
She married Leo R. Jacobson on Dec. 16, 1967 at Grace Lutheran Church in Ada. From 1970 until 1980 they lived in Bertha. They moved to Mountain Home, Idaho in 1980. At this time she volunteered as the church secretary at Grace Lutheran Church and was also a substitute teacher. In 1984 they moved to Park Rapids, where she lived since.
She began working as the administrative secretary at Calvary Lutheran Church in April 1985, and continued working there for the next 23 years.
She was an active member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Park Rapids.

She is survived by her husband, Leo, of of Park Rapids; daughter, Michelle, of Kalamazoo, Mich.; sons: Michael (Lorrie), of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Mark (Christy), of Moorhead; five grandchildren; her mother, Lorraine Slininger of Ada; sisters: Carol (Loren) Sturdevant of Glenrock, Wyo., Ardell (Larry) Wold of Felton, and Eunice Slininger of Ada; brother, Dean (Antoneta) Slininger, of Fargo, N.D.; her foster brother, Robert Miller, of Ada; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and her sister-in-law Lorraine.
Funeral service: Tuesday, Nov. 18 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Park Rapids with Rev. Ken Nyhusmoen as officiant.
Casket bearers: her grandson, Zachary Lile; and nephews: Darin, Richard and Peter Jacobson, and Robert Slininger and Dennis Wold.
Inurnment: Bethel Lutheran Cemetery near Dorset at a later date.
