A motorcyclist from Bertha is in critical condition after a crash Friday night, Sept. 26, north of Bertha.

Roger E. Hagerman, 59, of Bertha, was on a 2005 Kawasaki motorcycle, trailing a 1999 Ford Taurus driven by Steven P. Richter, 35, of Verndale, which was about to make a left turn off of U.S. Highway 71 and onto Todd County Road 73. As Hagerman attempted to pass the Taurus on the left, another unidentified vehicle passed Richter's vehicle on the right. Hagerman struck Richter's driver's side door and was ejected from the bike, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Hagerman was taken to Tri-County Hospital in Wadena with serious injuries. Richter and a passenger, Brenna J. McKnight, 16, of Verndale, did not appear to be injured, the patrol reported.

The accident was reported around 9:30 p.m.
