A 27-year-old Bemidji man was charged Tuesday with felony second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, causing substantial bodily harm.
Darrell Gene Partridge allegedly stabbed a man Saturday morning, causing a 4.5-inch facial gash that required stitches.
Beltrami County Sheriff's Office investigators and deputies responded at 8 a.m. Saturday to North Country Regional hospital in response to a stabbing report.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim told investigators he had been stabbed by Partridge after a night of drinking on the 1800 block of Gregg Court Northwest.
The two men were drinking most of Friday night with two other individuals. The victim told police that he and Partridge began wrestling. Partridge bumped his head on a table and got a slight cut on his head during the wrestling match, the victim said. Partridge then got mad, but the incident cooled.

After they went to bed for a few hours, the victim said he woke up at 7:30 a.m. and found there others were playing a game in the living room.
He said he went and asked Partridge if he was feeling better about his head.
Partridge then got mad and ran at the victim with an exposed pocket knife.
Partridge then slashed at the victim and caused a deep cut on his cheek, according to the complaint.
Deputies found Partridge at the site, who said any injuries he or the victim suffered were caused by a mutual wrestling match. He said they both hit the side of a table and caused the injuries to both men.
He denied attacking the victim with a knife.
One witness could not recall being on the 1800 block of Gregg Court during the incident.
Another witness said she had witnessed Partridge attack the victim with a knife and caused injuries.
