Bemidji was mentioned on prime time TV Monday night in an episode of the CBS situation comedy "How I Met Your Mother."
First, a drink called Bemidji Pale Ale was served in a Minnesota-themed bar as cast members gathered around a table. One of the characters said she was from Bemidji.
Toward the end of the show, that character's friend informs everyone in the bar that the character is not really from Bemidji, but instead from Canada.
There also were references to the Minnesota Vikings' loss to Atlanta in the 1999 NFC Championship game.
