Arson is suspected in two fires started early Friday morning.

At about 6:15 Friday morning, the Becker County dispatch received two calls involving structure fires located about two and a half miles apart.

The first fire was located a short distance east of the intersection of Becker County highways 37 and 35, which involved a mobile home that was being used for storage. Within three minutes, there was a second fire, located approximately two miles west of the same intersection, involving a hunting/getaway cabin that was unoccupied at the time.

The location of these fires is about 25 miles northeast of Detroit Lakes.

"Due to the nature of these fires, we are considering them arson, based on physical evidence not being disclosed at this time," Sheriff Tim Gordon said in a press release.
