Beaulah "Boots" Josephine Hooks Kadow, 78, of Vancouver, WA died of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis Dec. 31, 2007 at her house-boat on the river.
She was born April 3, 1929 at Yola, near Lake George. She was raised on a small farm and moved to Vancouver, WA when she was 14.
She married Roy L. Kadow and they lived at, owned and operated Vancouver Boat Harbor and Kadow's Kove until they moved to Kadow's Marina. She also worked at a cannery, was a field boss and bus driver in the berry fields, worked at a travel agency and drove bus for the Evergreen School District. She operated a coffee wagon for longshoremen and neighborhood kids.
Survivors are her six children, LeRoy (Tina), Gail (Howard) Loron, Lloyd (Beverly), Karen (John) Beitey, Steve (Marlene) and Scott (Mary); one sister, Joyce Raphael of Vancouver; 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband and two sisters, Patty Combs and Marilyn Boyce.
