A Bagley man was sentenced Wednesday in Clearwater County District Court to 18 months in prison, at his request, after a meth lab was found in his basement in April. Darrin Forsberg, 44, was convicted of one count of aiding and abetting possession of methamphetamine with intent to manufacture. Forsberg was sentenced to 180 days local confinement in the Clearwater County Jail and credited with 91 days time served and an 18-month prison sentence was stayed for 10 years and he would be placed on probation. However, that sentence was revoked when Forsberg requested execution of the 18-month prison sentence, according to court administration. Forsberg pleaded guilty to the charge in June. Charges of first-degree controlled substance, first-degree aiding and abetting manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to manufacture and storing meth paraphernalia in the presence of a child or vulnerable adult were dismissed Wednesday. Forsberg was arrested April 16 when law enforcement served a search warrant at a Bagley residence on Patricia Lane NW and found methamphetamine, Muriatic acid (used in cooking methamphetamine) and a one-pot clandestine methamphetamine lab. Also arrested were Tambra Laws, 56, Gabrielle Poitra, 42, and Andre Chevalier, 53, all of Bagley. Laws pleaded guilty July 8 to one count of third-degree possession of methamphetamine and Poitra pleaded guilty that day to one count of storing meth paraphernalia in the presence of a child or vulnerable adult. Both women were charged with multiple crimes. They are scheduled for sentencing on Aug. 5. Chevalier has yet to enter a plea to five felony drug charges. He is scheduled to appear in Clearwater County District Court for a pretrial hearing Aug. 5 with a jury trial slated for Aug. 17. Poitra has been released from the Clearwater County Jail on her own recognizance. Laws, Chevalier and Forsberg remain in custody.
