Becker County authorities have released the name of a man who died following a one-vehicle crash south of Lake Park on Friday.
Harold Vernon Hanson, 82, of rural Lake Park died Friday evening after suffering a medical condition that led to the crash at County Road 6 and Summer Island Road.
An eyewitness told authorities the crash occurred on County Road 6 at 5:08 p.m., a Becker County sheriff's office news release states.
The westbound vehicle slowed considerably before abruptly accelerating, leaving the road and striking a tree, authorities said.
An eyewitness performed CPR on Hanson until authorities arrived and transported him to St. Mary's Innovis Health in Detroit Lakes, where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities say the man apparently suffered a heart attack and Friday's wintry weather driving conditions were not a factor in the crash.
