The football season came to an end for Park Rapids, Nevis and United North Central Tuesday night.
Park Rapids opened play in the Section 8AAA playoffs with a 13-7 loss at Pequot Lakes. Justin Peterson gave the Panthers a 7-0 lead with a 1-yard TD run in the first quarter before Pequot Lakes scored a pair of touchdowns in the second half to advance.
Evan Massmann rushed for 271 yards and four touchdowns in leading Win-E-Mac to a 29-7 win over Nevis in the quarterfinals of the Section 6 9-man playoffs. Matt Beach scored the Tigers' lone touchdown on a 3-yard run in the fourth quarter.
United North Central fell behind 56-6 at the half in a 56-20 loss at Pelican Rapids in the first round of the Section 8AA playoffs. Alex Brockpahler returned a kickoff 97 yards and caught a 55-yard TD pass from Brady Yrjo to lead the Warriors. Josh Kinnunen intercepted a pass and returned it 2 yards for UNC's other score. Pelican Rapids, which is rated No. 9 in the latest state Class AA poll, improved to 9-0 on the season.
