Kristi Marie Akland and Ivan Dale Petersen announce their engagement.
Parents of the couple are Wayne and Sharon Akland of Beresford, S.D. and Dale and Jean Petersen of Park Rapids.
Akland is a library technician at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall and is working on a master's degree in library and information science through the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Petersen is a machinist at Outlaw Customs in Pipestone.
A June 13, 2009 wedding is planned.
