Newly elected Akeley mayor Scott Vettleson and recently appointed council member Jon Johnson have notified the city they will be resigning their positions.
Vettleson is resigning due to "an unexpected long-term health issue" and Johnson has moved outside the city.
The issue will be addressed when the council convenes tonight (Wednesday) at 7 p.m.
