A three-vehicle crash with serious injuries was reported Wednesday, July 21 in Hubbard County.
According to an incident report from the Minnesota State Patrol, the accident occurred at approximately 10:57 a.m. on State Hwy. 34, two miles west of Akeley.
Involved in the crash were a 2016 Kia Sorento driven by Carmen Mary Norenberg, 48; a 2014 Buick LaCrosse driven by Ashlee Marie Altobelli, 27; and a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Shawn Adrian Stelzer, 45.
The report says the Kia and the Buick were traveling west on Hwy. 34 when the Kia struck the front right side of the Buick, causing both vehicles to spin out.
While in a spin, the report says, the Kia also struck the eastbound Chevy on its side, causing airbags to deploy. The Chevy was pulling a trailer camper that received heavy damage.
Norenberg and her passenger, Darlene Mae Gregerson, 74, both suffered non-life threatening injuries, the report says. Norenberg was transported to a Fargo hospital, and Gregerson to CHI St. Joseph’s Health in Park Rapids.
All other occupants, including two passengers in the Chevy, were unhurt. All occupants of the three vehicles wore seat belts during the accident, the report says, and alcohol was not involved.
