Park Rapids man injured in motorcycle crash
A Park Rapids man sustained life-threatening injuries in a motorcycle wreck Monday in Crow Wing Lake Township.
According to a Minnesota State Patrol incident report, Broderick Aaron Whitcomb, 43, was eastbound on State Hwy. 87, east of Crow Crest Drive at approximately 5:54 p.m. when he missed a turn and went off the roadway.
According to radio chatter at the time, the motorcycle hit a tree.
Whitcomb was driving a 2004 Yamaha YP400 and was not wearing a helmet, according to the MSP report. No alcohol involvement was suspected in the crash.
Hubbard County Sheriff's Office, North Memorial EMS and Air Care and Park Rapids Police Department personnel responded to the scene. Whitcomb was transported to Essentia Health Fargo.
