Mora woman identified as Leech Lake drowning victim

LEECH LAKE, Minn. -- Authorities on Wednesday, May 22 identified the woman pulled unresponsive from Leech Lake on Monday afternoon.

The Cass County Sheriff's Office said that Sandra Crow, 69, of Mora was pronounced dead at the scene after she was discovered in water near a dock on Kabekona Bay of Leech Lake, roughly 30 miles southeast of Bemidji.

The sheriff’s office responded to the call at Woodland Resort at approximately 3 p.m. on Monday. Those at the scene and later first responders attempted life-saving efforts, a sheriff’s release said. Crow’s body was sent to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy and the investigation is ongoing.
