According to a Minnesota State Patrol report, three were taken to St. Joseph's Health for non-life-threatening injuries after two vehicles collided at 3:44 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1 at the intersection of County Road 107 and State Hwy. 34 in Park Rapids.

The report states that a 2003 Subaru Outback, driven by 79-year-old Margaret Zieffler of Hackensack, was westbound on County 107, stopped at a stop sign, then proceeded onto Hwy. 34 in front of a 2003 Chevy Silverado, driven by Matthew Brandt, 37, of Park Rapids. Brandt was headed eastbound on Hwy. 34, with passengers Kolby Brandt, 17; Madeline Brandt, 10, and Nicole Brandt, 36. Matthew and Madeline were transported by North Memorial Ambulance to the hospital, along with Zieffler. Frederick Zieffler, 78, a passenger in the Subaru, was uninjured. The patrol noted that everyone was wearing a seatbelt and alcohol was not involved in the accident.

Also responding to the scene were the Park Rapids Police Department, Hubbard County Sheriff's Office and Park Rapids Fire Department.
