An 82-year-old rural Lake Park man died Friday evening after suffering a medical condition that led to a single-vehicle crash south of Lake Park.
An eyewitness told authorities the crash occurred on County Road 6 at 5:08 p.m., a Becker County sheriff's office news release states.
The westbound vehicle slowed considerably before abruptly accelerating, leaving the road and striking a tree, authorities said.
An eyewitness performed CPR on the man until authorities arrived and transported him to St. Mary's Innovis Health in Detroit Lakes, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities say the man apparently suffered a heart attack and Friday's wintry weather driving conditions were not a factor in the crash, the release said.
