She said the chamber’s vision is to be recognized as a successful, influential champion for members, ensuring their individual success and prosperity.
“I am looking forward to working very hard on behalf of our members to enhance the community in which we live and work,” she said. “Park Rapids is booming with new businesses. The amount of visitors that are spending vacations, weekends and day-tripping has skyrocketed this past year. Locals and visitors alike seem to be enjoying more of the outdoors that our area has to offer.”
She is active in several community organizations, including the Rotary, Heartland Lakes Economic Development Commission, Park Rapids Downtown Business Association and Minnesota Heartland Trail Association.
Christensen said she has lived in Park Rapids on and off since she was 19.
“My husband and I have six children, ranging from almost 13 to 29, and are also raising our 4-year-old granddaughter,” she said.
When she is not working, Christensen said, her favorite pastimes are spending time with family outdoors, riding motorcycle with her husband, snowmobiling and listening to music, with 2 Towns Down and Lydia Rose among her favorites.
“I also enjoy serving on the production team at Abide Vineyard Church and pontooning,” she said.
