Tiger Arena was packed Saturday evening with family and friends who gathered to celebrate with the class of 2019.
Their class motto is "We have come a long way, but not half as far as we will go."
The band directed by Lisa Moses played "Pomp and Circumstance" for the processional. The high school choir sang "Field of Dreams" and the senior choir sang "So Long, Goodbye." Both performances were directed by Beth Grafenstein.
Students thanked parents and school staff for supporting them on their journey. There was a slideshow featuring the graduates as babies next to their senior pictures, along with fun times they had with friends in elementary and high school.
A graduation tradition, where students pass out flowers to their family members to show their thanks and love, brought tears, as always. To lighten the mood, students celebrated with a shower of confetti, smiles and hugs following their graduation ceremony, walking out to their class song "The Climb" by Miley Cyrus.
This is the last evening graduation for Nevis. Next year's ceremony is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend.
