For those wanting to make a difference and get involved, an Aug. 20 “Volunteer Fair” will showcase area organizations that need helping hands.

Sponsored by Living at Home of the Park Rapids Area (LAH) and CHI St. Joseph’s Health, the free event includes lunch, entertainment and booths. It will be held at Crystal Brook Senior Living Center in Park Rapids.

“This volunteer fair is an opportunity to share an organization’s story. Likewise, the residents of the community can come and check out all the wonderful organizations that are looking for volunteers,” said LAH Executive Director Connie Carmichael. “I know that I learn so much from events where we are all together. Oftentimes, we share volunteers and even clients. It only helps all of our organizations to be reminded about area happenings and events so that we can work with each other to spread our good news.”

Current and potential volunteers are invited to attend the fair, meet organizations actively seeking help and discover where they might fill a need. Booths will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Acoustic musician R. Mark Fogelson will provide entertainment beginning at 1:30 p.m.
