Fargo babysitter reports child's clothing smelling of pot; parents investigated
FARGO -- Police are investigating a Fargo couple after a baby sitter reported their child's clothes and diaper bag smelled of marijuana.
The investigation followed a report made by the baby sitter alleging child neglect, according to a search warrant filed Tuesday in Cass County District Court.
The search warrant states that when the sitter went to pick up the baby Oct. 31 at the couple's north Fargo apartment, it smelled of marijuana, and the parents both had red eyes and difficulty walking.
The baby sitter told police the baby's clothes and diaper bag also had an odor of marijuana, and provided them to the officer, who smelled them and agreed.
During a police K-9 search of the apartment building more than a month later, the dog got a hit on the couple's apartment door, the search warrant states.
Police raided the apartment Dec. 8, and recovered a glass pipe containing marijuana residue and a digital gram scale, the search warrant states.
No criminal charges have been filed.
